A R accuracy

Just wondering what kind of groups are most getting off the bench with there ARs , been working with load development and seem to have gotten to a point of not getting any better , seems the limit is around a consistent .7 to .8 (5 shot groups)

Re: A R accuracy

I'd be happy with those results...considering we don't know what barrel you have on your AR15.

I have a Compass Lake with Douglass barrel blank. I haven't really had time to get my ammo production up and running. I'll be using Hornady 55gr SP with CFE223 powder.

Re: A R accuracy

Consistent MOA groups with FMJ bullets is very good. Are you shooting at 100 yards? If so I would call it good.

Been a benchrest shooter for most of my 72 years , my theory is the shooter and the rifle can always do a little better with just another tweek or two , i suspect a match grade barrel is in the near future , although today i tried some 69 gr MKs that showed some promise.

Re: A R accuracy

I can ring steel with no problem every shot at 500yds with factory ammo. Ill have to shoot it on paper and see what kinds of group I'm getting.

Here's a couple 5 shot groups from a custom built 6.8 a friend built. I love that rifle! Wish I didn't have that flyer in the group on the left....
