AR15 Upper Melt Down.

I would like to see the test done with a 4150 CMV, chrome lined barrel, (FNH) or (DD).

Re: AR15 Upper Melt Down.

It puts to rest that the AR15 is an unreliable rifle. You can buy those Faxom barrels for a little over a hundred bucks. I would not hesitate to use one on a budget plinker.

Re: AR15 Upper Melt Down.

Did you see the gas tube cherry?? Even fairly early on??? Pretty interesting!

I am like you...I'd like to see a CHF barrel done...

And I wonder what actually caused the barrel to rupture like that...bad spot in the steel?

Barrel heated and started to droop...we all know a bullet going down a bent tube is bad news...if the barrel sag did it...would a SBR last longer? How much longer?

Did the previous bullet squib?

I find it pretty impressive...and that was steel cased junk ammo....steel cased stuff can be tough to run..

How would a piston AR fair??

How bout an AK???

(Sorry I had to...lol)

That looks like a squib to me.

Re: AR15 Upper Melt Down.

From watching the video when the brake flew off, at least to me it almost looks like the brake was sagging. I wonder if it just got loose and flew off or if a round hit it and that made it come off? Pretty interesting though.

It would have been interesting to see some pictures of the inside of the barrel where he said the rifing was gone.

It is foolish and wrong to mourn the men who died. Rather we should thank God that such men lived.

I subscribe to this guy on youtube, he's the other half of FPS Russia. When andre kalasnikov died he fired 1000 rounds through an ak no problem. It was all semi auto if i remember correctly but I dont think he had a problem.

I seen one test like this with a full auto AK, the hand guards caught fire.
