01/31 Wilhelm/Shenango

Fished Shenango from 0800-1200 yesterday. 9" of good Ice West of 18. 5 other guys fishing. Lots of lookers but only several small takers. Off to Wilhelm where the ice was 8-9", fished there from 1400 until dark. Drilled prob 35 holes and was only able to ice 4 fish. Very slow day..

Fallfan you fish hard. By the 20th hole I would have sat there, sipped, and waited.

Buckskin just trying to locate the fish, once you can find a school of bigger fish they can be caught. Decided to try again yesterday, fished where I never have and came up with several medium perch. Give me the time and the ice I will find them.

Was shocked at how many ppl were out yesterday. Also observed many ppl " hole hopping" trying to find fish, and my guess was not many ppl were catching fish..

If there was snow on ice....that can drastically slow the bite.

Not much and it will be going fast, the forecast is in the 50's the rest of the week. Just getting ready to leave and fish a new place before we loose the ice.

Fished most of yesterday in the nice weather, finally found them the slab crappie's that is. No pics to post but the fish ranged from 13" to 15.5"

Have to think outside the box, I was fishing where I have never seen anyone ice fishing, and it was a 1/2 mile walk due to no place to park.
