Vortex scope

Does anyone have a diamondback vortex 4x16x42 HP ? I am looking for input on this scope with the bdc deadhold reticle as I think this is the scope I would like on my 300 win mag.

What are pros and cons of a bdc reticle ?

You're the same dumb pilgrim that I been hearin' for twenty days, and smellin' for three!

I am not a big fan of BDC unless if it FFP.

I only own one Vortex and it is a red dot. But I've shot a couple of my buddies including that exact scope and I wasn't impressed with the glass at all. That being said there are tons of guys in love with Vortex. To each his own. For my money the only scopes I consider anymore are Leupold and Nikon.

Leupold Gold Ring assembled by American workers in Oregon. Vortex does not have a mfg facility in the US. Vortex are imports most likely from China. That says it all.
BLC3128 and .257 like this.

I was not impressed by the vortex glass either.

Diamondback.?.Vortex makes several levels of glass, the PST and razor are awesome! i haven't checked out the HST enough to say.

i would certainly NOT say Vortex glass is not impressive in a blanket statement. not made in USA ..correct

warranty?...awesome! as well is support and customer service. i have dealt with both and Vortex failures was not the manufacture fault!

turned out to be NOT using a torque wrench to tighten the rings.

A "clip" is a clip, aka Def: a device, typically flexible or worked by a spring, for holding an object or objects together or in place.
a "Magazine" is a magazine aka Def: a chamber for holding a supply of cartridges to be fed automatically to the breech of a gun.

so a "clip" holds the "magazine" in place. get it?

I have several diamondbacks as well as leupold. The glass is very good and the scopes are very accurate and consistant. They are also on a 35 whelen and 358 winchester.
