well, spent the day there shooting and what a great time. very nice place and I went ahead and joined while I was there. for anyone that likes to shoot, that's the place to go. its a 2 hour drive for us, but well worth it. looks like we are going again next Thursday

been busy getting everything loaded and ready to go to the range again. brass is all loaded with only the lube "cookie" and a wad to go in and then the bullets. the target was at home on Saturday at 140 yards with some new brass and lighter charges to get the brass fire formed. the orange is about 4" across and I think there was 10 or 12 shots there with a different bullet than I am using now.
Awesome. Looks good... What bullet are you using?
I'm using Accurate Molds #44-500P in my 45-70. They drop a touch under .444" and patched to .451". Then seated .100" into the case.
83grs. of Swiss 1.5 and a .060" LDPE wad. I'm getting MOA groups.

BQDM, I am using .395 swaged, cup base 370 grain pure lead bullets. they are sitting on top of 70 gr. of 2f, dropped 33", with a .030 fiber card, compressed .295, .10 lube cookie (1/2 olive oil/1/2 bees wax) another .030 card and hand seat the pp bullet with 2 wraps of 9# onion skin paper in the case. fps is 1280. the bullet measures .400 with the paper. this seems to be the load it likes.
