well it's almost deer season, I guess hogs are touch and go depending on who is planting what for the year, but most long range shooters have a goal or a hope for distance.

i would like to get out for groundhogs at least one more time, but it seems hogs are few and far between maybe too many coyotes

I wanted to shoot a groundhog with my 220 swift this year but I didn't get the chance. My attention will now be focused on other game species and fall fishing.

Another one of my goals was to shot a deer while in North Carolina over 300 yards. I accomplished that with a doe at 407 yards in a bean field. 2 shots two deer. Other deer was a 8 pointer at 70 yards

Not sure if this is what you had in mind , but I've been wanting to get beyond 400 yds. for groundhog hunting for many years . I just happened to run across a good deal on a Bushnell CONX . Now I have to save up for the Kestrel 5700 Elite and a scope with hold over marks . Finally going to try to put the pieces of the puzzle together .

I converted my old Heavy Bench rest gun into 338 Edge long range hunting rig. A friend of mine knows a few guys that have steel set up at a mile, I'd like to try that once I get the load perfected.
