Just got my gun!

After a month wait (not really that long) I got my gun! Dave Short did an awesome job on all the metal work getting my new 300WSM put together and my Paint man Kenny Prahl did another incredible paint job. Now I just need to shoot some loads and find a match or a groundhog!

WOW ! That is an awesome groundhog rifle ! What rangefinder did you choose for a caliber that powerful if I may ask ?

Blake, you always have the coolest stuff, I'm envious. I hope you're planning on taking it to Ridgway. That paint job is over the top

Yes I will be shooting Ridgway. I heard you might not shoot this year???
It's a 300wsm should be good for 2000 and under.
When groundhog hunting I either use my HD GEOVIDS, or my sig kilo 2000.

Where did you get the pain done and can they add pain to blued surfaces?

That gun is beautiful. Can't wait to see how it shoots.

Looks like it wants a good stiff load of H-4350 ..... That's a long range big banger but it would be a bit much for Ridgeway, you'd better have a good shoulder for 60+ shots off a bench with that cartridge..guy did a beautiful paint job...now the fun begins..hopefully you later in a supply of casings....that'll kill em out to a 1000 for sure and ring steel much further...have fun, good luck and enjoy it !

I have 16lbs of H4350 and am torn between that and RL17. I have 200 pieces of Bertrum brass all prepped and ready and 1500 208Amax's now now all I need is time to get it making little holes! lol
I usually only shoot 50 shots at ridgeway during a match and have shot MUCH bigger guns up there. In fact I still have the heavy gun record with a 36 out of 40.

As long as H-4350 is underneath the bullet just about anything will work up top, by far the best powder for any short mag, you didn't mention your neck diameter or is it a no turn ?? Can't tell if it has a break on it but if your shooting 50 + shots out of it your a better man than me without a break, I couldn't handle that many these days. Looks like your going to get some nice weather to let a hundred fly this weekend, oh I forgot..you gotta do the barrel break in, 50 shots then...
