Leica 1600B and a 223
It was cold yesterday but I needed a shooting fix so I packed up my gear and headed to the range. Got things set up and decided to try a long shot on my first shot. All my gear was exposed to the 20 degree air temp so everything was COLD.
Ranged a steel plate at 715yds with my Leica 1600B. This unit reads temp, barometric pressure and angle of the shot to give you a firing solution based on the Ballistic curve you've programmed into the unit.
Unit said I had to add 70 clicks of elevation. Dialed it in, loaded an 80gr SMK and touched it off.
Not only did I hit the 10X10 plate....I hit it exactly at the point of aim!
No one was there to see it so you'll have to take my word for it but it was impressive. At least it was to me.
