Re: Bear Season is Coming

How do you get a bullet to them?

I've shot across a ravine at a buck once..it was less then 100yds..its a steep little ditch..

I think I sent 4 rounds and couldn't figure out why he is standing there trotting around...last shot I cranked up the scope and saw the maze of branches..couldn't see them on 4x or whatever...

Found a hole and dumped him...

My first 4 rounds just weren't making it across the ditch to him because of the branches...though I could see him plain as day...

Looks like a Krispy Kreme box, that will surely bring one running!

Re: Bear Season is Coming

I've refrained from commenting but here goes....

Treating a bear as a woodchuck....and shooting into a maze of trees/branches where a bullet is easily deflected at a distance where shot placement is iffy at best is the height of irresponsibility and downright unethical, to say the least...I won't get into it any further except to say that even under optimum conditions on an open range shooting at a paper target, things can go easily awry...

This post should have been removed as it does not represent ethical hunting practices and only serves to fuel the antis condemnation of our sport and, in this case, understandably so....

In case you haven't noticed this is the long-range HUNTING forum. If you don't like the topic go read something else. There's quite a few people here that would like to see some success photos in this thread
