ruger precision rifle

I'm not much for factory rifle for long distance shooting but this is an interesting new rifle. It's offered in two great chamberingsfor long range.. 6.5 creedmore and a .243 super fast twist, 7.7 twist. Check it out on their site and it's selling for around $900... Groups look more than good enough for even comp shooting which will make a lot of smiles compared to the $4500 price tag on similar rifles.. We'll see.

Re: ruger precision rifle

My only question is why not chamber them in 223, 6 BR, 300 WM ... Then I would have bought one instantly in the 6 BR...either way guess the 6.5 creedmore will be fine.

Re: ruger precision rifle

The bbls are changed out with standard AR tools and there is already a bbl maker with aftermarket bbls. When someone starts making mags w/ other followers, other cals may evolve, but for now I'm sure you're gonna see them stick with short action cartridges. They'd have to change the action, mags, and bolt to go to the long action, they'll prob wait a bit and see what happens. If it takes off, I'm sure others will follow.
