One thing I don't like about automatics is that they make it easier to automate the entire driving experience. Maybe I'm just an old man, but I don't want a car that parallel parks itself, I don't want a warning light to tell me when I'm changing lanes, I don't want a rear view camera. For better or for worse, I want to be the one making the decisions when I'm driving. Not the car. Me.

I like the automatic on my new RAM. I do not like the beeping from the rear bumper sensors. I do like the rear camera for hooking up a trailer. I can still drive this truck but hate the phone thing and disabled that.

Technology

My F150 has a backup camera only comes on in reverse and with the bed height its a good thing. Also i can manually shift the 6 speed automatic thru buttons on the floor shifter so some control there especially when towing. No blind spot indicators And i like the tow haul function especially towing my travel trailer on the hills.
