It appears the CWD is here in PA

I know a guy who processes deer and he had a deer that something appeared not to be right with. He called the local bunny cop and it apears that it was suffering from CWD as were 3 other deer in his shop. The PGC & DCNR will finally get what they have been wanting, a decimated deer herd that they can blame on something besides their poor management practices!

What area?

Its not about what you harvest, its about the time spent afield with family and friends.

I guess its possible but I don't believe it right now. The main reason is that there is only a handful of labs able to diagnose the disease and the average wait time for processing is 3-6 months due to the high volume of samples.

If the deer were killed in the PA rifle season, the samples are probably still sitting in formalin.

Re: It appears the CWD is here in PA

All I can tell you is the guy processes deer in the Mifflinburg area and he was telling me that they skin them using a 4 wheeler and a golf ball. One doe's hide came off in an unusual was and it appeared to have humps near the the backstraps. He called the PGC and the WCO shopwed up and after examining the deer claimed it was CWD. They are testing 3 other deer in his shop that also supposedsly showed signs of CWD. This is what the guy told me.

Why can't you give the name of the processor?
