Saw a sickening spin off of the CWD issue

Last week I went with a friend to drop off his carcass at the local PGC dumpster. There, in the bin were four completely intact bucks, with just the antlers cut off. What a wanton waste of meat.

I guess the hunters must be afraid of the CWD and don`t want to take a chance with it. agreed it is a waste . guess they want to be safe and not sorry.

if they had tags, they might be able to charge them with wanton waste ? maybe not. it should be a crime to kill a deer just for the antlers.

If they aren't going to use the meat, they darn well shouldn't be out they killin'! That ain't huntin', that's just plain killin' without any respect to those magnificent creatures we all love so dearly!

If you ever wondered, that's the reason it's called hunting, not killing.

i dont even like shooting groundhogs and tossing them into the woods anymore. it makes me feel guilty. i did put a trail cam on two that i killed and placed in the wood line off the field. the foxes came in and had a feast. it was fun watching that short video clip to see them struggle to get the groundhog the right way to carry it off.

at least they didnt just lay there and spoil.

Not much goes to waste in the wild, gut piles are frequently gone by the next morning. Deer are a different story than groundhogs, but I do agree with you.

If they tagged it, brought it out of the woods, there’s no mandate that they must use it. Like it or not, you can throw your deer away if you choose. Not much different than folks catching a limit of trout, putting them in the freezer, then pitching them a year later.

At least the deer weren’t tossed at a roadside pull off or a SGL parking area....seen that a lot over the years.

It was too smelly to really dig into them, but there were no tags, and the two we could see the best had bullet holes in them. "ownership' or not, I agree with Flintlock Hunter. That was killing just for the antlers, and I bet none of the four shooters cared a bit about the meat. Those four "hunters" are nothing but scumbags as far as I'm concerned. We killed 6 deer in the firearms season, and two in archery/muzzy, and put the heads in a local bin. ALL came back negative.
