Results from Mill Hunt and thanks to Steward!

First and foremost, I want to thank Steward and his family for opening his farm/mill site up to my group of 4. You don't often find people willing to let you dig up their yards and you sure don't find people who then go out of their way to secure you other spots nearby. You are one heck of a great person and I look forward to seeing you and the family again

Hunt started off at 7a.m. on saturday and ended around 12:30 or so when the finds started tailing off. As expected at an old mill, there was a LOT of iron and mineralization in the ground, which kept two of the four hunters out of the main yard. I managed a gold pan full of finds, of note are a 1920 mercury dime, Ulysses S Grant token and what I now know is half of a cylinder from a gun!

The long item with the square head looks like an easy out.

Is your position a short term gain - or a long term loss? Separate the issues.

My guess is that you were down on the list of folks swinging metal detectors on that site.

Re: Results from Mill Hunt and thanks to Steward!

Well, I know no one had searched it since 1990 when we bought it. Prior to that I have no idea.

We enjoyed having the guys. They could not have been more gracious and respectful to the property. They took the time to let my 3yr old son tag along for a little and answered all our questions.

True class acts and a credit to their hobby.

On a side note if anyone is looking to buy a beautiful Lancaster Co farmette, public sale will be October 10th with klinekreidergood.

Steward

We are merely stewards of all we have, both for our Creator and for our children.
