Goofing around with my new to me detector, I have no idea what I am doing. I found some pull tabs, a bullet jacket, other junk, then this. Its a primitive zipper tab, cast brass, heavy, marked
" Scoville" on the back. A little web search has them in business since 1802 in Georgia, still in business today, and zippers coming into vogue in the early 1850's, but not on pants until the 1930's. I darkened the pic to show the cast brass, anyone have a clue as to how old?
