Question on a Whites

I recently became the new owner of an old Whites Coinmaster Classic II detector. Long story, guy owes me money, la la la.
It works, and I think I like it, but I don't know how to set the settings. Its got an on/off knob with sensitivity, a switch in the center that says all metals, lock, and reset, and a knob that says disc, with a min and max dial. Help an newbie out, please !

Re: Question on a Whites

Joe you want to set the disc knob just to the point where it reads a nickel. That will put you into some trash but not all. If you want less trash and are willing to give up nickels then turn up just to the point where dimes/pennies/quarters pick up.
Sensitivity should be around 75% for most soils
Center switch sould be your pinpoint. Set in lock when detecting and hold on all metal when attempting to narrow down location of target.

Thanks ! I took it for $100 debt, so I think I won. Funny how you get hooked on it so fast. When you spend so much of your time being dead serious, its nice to see how this goofy little machine relaxes me! I like to hear that beep !

Re: Question on a Whites

Yep . The concentration & expectation of the next good BEEP help to melt the stress away . Once you finally do make a nice find , it's the iceing on the cake .If you find that your really enjoying detecting , Whites will even let you trade up for a better model if you feel the need ...
