Sunday find

Took the dog for a run Sunday and decided to check a creek bed. Found this hide scraper. I think its Onondaga Chert

Very cool. I wish I were more versed in these things so I could find stuff and know what it actually is.



Also, did you happen to notice any deer enjoying their Sunday by resting nearby?

Well, the spike we found, or what was left of him, didn't seem to be having all that good of a time. By the tracks, and his lack of flesh, the coyotes and foxes were. We didn't see any live deer. They must have all been at church.

Nice, I found a rose quartz hide scraper in my back yard when I was digging the first garden after I moved to my home in 76.

the coyotes sure clean up any thing they take down or find down.

Buckethead, I think you meant skyhill chert I have a tip on a source in the Sharon area, need to check it out. Bob

Yep, that's it. I found this in the Clark area and my friend who knows enough about this he just wrote a field guide says there's a deposit near the area of the Shenango lake.
