Child Metal Detector

My 7 year old son wants a metal detector for his birthday in lieu of a party. I know NOTHING about them. Any tips on a decent detector for a kid (going to be 8) that won't break the bank?

Re: Child Metal Detector

the new Minelab Go-Find machines are getting good reviews. Ace 150 as stated above is also a good starting machine.

Re: Child Metal Detector

Fisher F2. It's what I started with before I upgraded to a Garrett ATP. My daughters (11 and 7) use the Fisher when they go with me.
