Surprise double silver day!

Went to the family farm this morning for a 3 hour hunt to try and find some goodies. I ended up digging a lot of buttons and a lot of iron. I was trying to dig more of the iffy mid-tone signals today to see what i had missed previously. I found a 1943p war nickle which was the first silver anything i found on this farm dating to at least 1867. I found a full horse shoe, and also an iron ax head which was kind of neat. I also managed to find a nice 7 penny coin spill which was super fun to uncover. I saw green at first and i wished for indians but they were a 1959, 1963 x 2, 1963d, and 1964 x 3. it still was pretty exciting. I also found a ring which had a broken band at the bottom of it. The two broken bands overlapped each other on the bottom and i kind of assumed it for junk. Well after supper i got the ring back out and tried to bend the ring back into shape and look for a mark. i honestly had no hope of seeing anything, but as i was able to spread the band open more i saw st...e...r...ling. couldn't believe it. it is my first sterling ring ever. it kind of looks like a belt with 3 gems. but 1 of the gems is missing.

this is the back of the button thing that is pictured top center. i have no idea what this was used for. i haven't really looked to far into it yet but if anybody knows could you please let me know.

Looks like maybe a cuff-link of some nature. I like the item with the dog profile. Anyhow, these are all really neat items. Thanks for sharing.

Good night Chesty, wherever you are......

Re: Surprise double silver day!

Thanks. It was neat digging them all up. The one in the top right looks like it has a train design on it. And I'm not sure what the Roman thing was doing in the yard.

Re: Surprise double silver day!

that roman thing just might be a coin, I googled "roman coin faces" and found a few that looked close.

give it a try, might be worth something.
