I got permission to hunt an old,old farm!!!!

It took me a couple of years to run into the owner of the place. It has a gated road and it is shut 99% of the time.
I talked to him and he is a very nice fellow.I asked if i could go to the farm and metal detect?
From the road it is over 1/4+ mile to the barn and old house!
He chuckled and said fine go ahead try it.
The barn,i could see from the road,is very well kept and the old house sets back behind it. You can't see the house real well from the road but you can see it. It is falling down but about 70% standing with old trees around it!
I got up early last week and went onto the land and to the house! I parked and got my stuff out and headed for the house. I tried for an hour and gave up!!!!!! The old yard was all old rose bushes and ivy.Under all this was old cans and other trash from a long time ago. It was a mess.
No wonder he laughed? He's still is a nice enough fellow to have said go ahead and i thanked him.

Been there. Some of the most promising spots upon first view ended up being the same way. Some of the spots I had the least faith in became hot beds for goodies. Humans sure had a way of pigging up places I've found. The more land they had, the more dumps they had. Good luck to you!
