Good video editing software

I bought a Sony DCR-DVD650 DVD Handycam Camcorder a few years ago but never had the pc to create videos. I just realized that that camera is a hybrid and you can record with both dvd's and memory stick. I know thats sad i just realized this. I was thinking of getting the memory stick pro duo for easy transfering of the videos to my new pc. I want to know what software you guys are using to make videos. I want to put together a decent video this year with transitions and music and stuff like that.

Re: Good video editing software

Windows Movie Maker is fine for basic editing. If you're thinking you're going to do some more fancy work, you could look into Sony Vegas/Adobe Premiere/Adobe After Effects.

Be warned though, all the "good" video editing software is going to cost you a few bills.
