Kayaking & Packrafting in Alaska

Just finished up editing my video on our float down the Tonsina River last summer. What a great trip! We had great weather and the river height was perfect at 2250 CFS.
Enjoy!

The background music is tough to deal with, looks like you had fun.

Re: Kayaking & Packrafting in Alaska

Thanks for posting this video. Brought back some memories.

I didn't listen to the sound so you made have mentioned sweepers and Bald Eagles.

Back in the mid 70's, my boss, his wife, and I did this on a raft while a co-worker had a kayak. A short while after we hit the water we came to an island, my boss asked his wife which side of the island to go. She didn't answer and I didn't know anything about rafting so no decision was made. One of those trees overhanging the water (sweepers) took me right out of the raft and into that cold glacier water. I was dressed in wool pants and such and was soaked the rest of the day. Fortunately, the weather looked like yours and I don't remember being cold. Thank good I had a good mae west on though.

The other thing I remember was seeing large numbers of Bald Eagles. Something that back in the 70's I had never seen.

Great day, great trip, great memories.

Thanks again.

Re: Kayaking & Packrafting in Alaska

im not understanding the music comments...i don't listen to music like that ever but it really caused you to say something rather than just turn the volume down? ummmmm......okay!

You want me to put my ear to the ground? Listen for hoof beats? Look for broken twigs?

Re: Kayaking & Packrafting in Alaska

It is hard to pick any music that doesn't get comments on how bad it is... lol. I do a fairly good job of mixing it between rock, country and dubstep. Anyways as mentioned above there is a volume control on most devices

Bearhollow- that sounds like most peoples first rafting trip. Sweepers love boats!
