Just got in the game 2 months ago. Well, maybe not in the game, big toe in the pool? I'm quickly realizing that I have a bum shoulder (left) and its really keeping me from progressing the way I feel that I should. In terms of competing, I have years before I could even begin to think about that. At 33 i'm not getting any younger so maybe I'm getting into this too late. Best of luck out there, weightlifting is a really great sport. The benefits in making every day tasks easier is worth giving it a shot.

It is very taxing on the body for sure to go for some of these all out max lifts I know. I'm 34 so I am not a spring chicken, but I think age is only an excuse to pull up and not go as hard. Still lots of time left to torture the body! lol
I did a lot of heavy strongman work in my early 20's small competitions then took a LONG time off. I am back in the gym for 15 months now. so I feel I am ready to push it over the limit.
What events are you looking into??
