Had gall bladder out 3 weeks ago...went back to dr. for my post surgery check up. Told me he sent some fatty liver tissues to be biopsied. Pathology report came back saying that i have iron deposits in the liver...anyone ever deal with this? What kinda meds/vitamins can i take to get rid of them...thanks

I would suggest laying off the Iron City beer.

I don't have ducks. I don't have rows. I have squirrels. And they're drunk.

I know this is a serious matter......but that was funny!!!

But to address the OP, if I were you I would call your Dr. and simply ask him what you could do. Be up front with how much, if any beer or other "sprits" you embellish in. You can't be helped if your not up front with him. JMHO

Re: iron deposits in liver

Well, I wouldn't get all worked up and "jump out of the cellar window" just yet. Hey...it could just be the way you are and you will live to be 99 years old. If all of the testing is coming back good then I wouldn't be real worried until a good doctor said it's time to be worried. And even then that would be time for a second opinion.

Re: iron deposits in liver

If it would be a liver problem I would not take any type of supplement until I was told by a doctor that it was ok.

Re: iron deposits in liver

What ticks me off is the surgeon who discovered this told me not to worry, that it's "not life threatening or anything. Will probably be corrected by vitamins or meds." Then you go on the internet, type in Iron in the Liver and you can't find anything that says it isn't extremely serious...
