Every other day diet (Fasting diet)

I'm 54 and had a physical in October and my weight and blood numbers (A1C, blood sugar, cholesterol) were all up. The last 5 years I have been commuting 93 miles one way and have not been exercising much. This is the most I have ever weighed. My doctor proposed a fasting diet. Every other day I eat one meal at lunch time of ~ 600 to 700 calories. The next day you can eat as much as you want. I try and eat healthy food on both days. Anyway it is really working for me as I started at 241 lbs in October and I'm 214 today and I have been cheating a lot during the Holidays and plan on hitting it hard again after New Years. I have been increasing my exercise also and with the weight I've lost the walking/running is much easier and enjoyable. I find this diet very easy to follow and you are not dieting half the time. I want to get below 200 lbs. I have another physical scheduled for March and I really hope that the weight loss and exercise will improve my blood numbers. Once you reach your goal you can cut back to 1 or 2 days a week fasting to maintain your weight.

Every other day diet (Fasting diet) -5month update

I just had blood work/physical done on 3/29. I started the diet on 10/28. Had a few weeks where I fell off the wagon but I stuck to it pretty well. My new weight is 204 (37 lbs lost). Total cholesterol down 51 to 204. A1C down from 5.8 to 5.5. My weight loss has definitely slowed but it still is slowly coming off and I feel good. I'm now setting a goal for 50 lbs total loss before the fall. This diet is simple... not always easy though.

That's great that your numbers are down, but that can't be easy. Congrats

I've been drinking Plexus Slim once a day and dropped my glucose numbers 40 points in a 3 week average.

FWIW I cut out beer, sugar, eat alot more protein and less carbs overall, and put in 4-6 hours a week working out. Started doing this in October 2015 time frame in the 240+ Lb range. Weighed in the other day at 192! Knees and back feel SOOO much better.

Congrats - that's a lot of weight to loose. I notice my knees feel better also. I bought dog food yesterday in a 40 lb bag and its hard to believe I was carrying around more fat than that on a daily basis. That is a lot of strain on joints and back. This morning before my big breakfast I'm at 194 lbs. I haven't been less than 200 in a very long time.
