It might be minor, but I'll note it. I first noticed the number of bags along the walking trail. Bags for candy and food were often seen. I noted to my walking partner, the fact none came from us.
The truth is I've maintained my maintenace weight for the last six years. Rertired, we usually average some five or seven days a week. And a candy or food wrapper is never carried with us.
I don't know how much weight was saved, but it's a form of enforced fasting. We not only control the eat on the walk, it passes to each day as a habit that affects time away from walking.

The habit of not eating when hiking may have affected my daily intake of food beyound the expercise time.
