Making her daddy proud...

I can't say enough great things about the Mentored Youth Program and the time I've spent with my 10 year old daughter in the woods. Not to take away for the other afternoons we have spent in the ladder stand and ground blind during archery season, but this past Saturday was an afternoon that neither of us will ever forget. I posted the story on another board here, but I wanted to be sure to put the pictures up here with the other proud parents of youth hunters.

I've got two more kids that will be looking for their first deer in a couple years, but now I'm worried how I can manage this level of success. Hailey sure raised the bar pretty high for her little brother and sister.

She put a great shot on the 8-point from about 45 yards and he piled up about 20 feet away.

Hailey spent the whole day yesterday looking online how she wants the mount to look and asked about changing her Christmas list to include a gift certificate to the Taxidermist. LOL!!

Talk about a happy camper and a proud poppa!!

Great job! What caliber did she use?

I have a 5 year-old daughter. I want to try to get her out in a few years.

Re: Making her daddy proud...

Hey Springer Rage, she was using a Marlin 30-30. Best part is that it's my rifle that I got when I was 12 and it's the gun I used to kill my fist buck. Although, mine was WAY smaller than this one. LOL!!
