Colton First Buck with the Crossbow

Colton got him at about 6:30. We hadn't seen a deer yet on stand, but had seen groundhogs and tons of squirrels. Finally, Colton whispered to me that a buck was standing right behind us. He finally worked around feeding on acorns to the side. Colton smoked him. It was really easy to see the Lumenok disappear right behind the shoulder. He only went about 50 yards and stopped for a few seconds, started to wobble and went down for good. This one was pretty nice because since it went down in sight we got to celebrate pretty good in the stand. He has all of his deer tags filled for the year. He was using a Parker Buckbuster 175 with Victory bolts with Lumenoks and American Bolt Sonic Broadheads. The buck is a 6 point.

Re: Colton First Buck with the Crossbow

PS. THIS IS WHERE THE DEER FELL DEAD AND WHY THE TAG ISN'T ATTACHED YET. YOU CAN SEE HE ISN'T FIELD DRESSED. JUST IN CASE ANYONE WAS WONDERING.

Congrats Colton, tagged out in the first 3 weeks of the season! Did you get him from one of the stands we hung? or the ground blind?

Re: Colton First Buck with the Crossbow

Actually yesterday we moved the one stand from above the gas line to just below the gasline about a 100 yards. We hunted there tonight and killed him.
