First Duck Hunt

On Saturday, my cousin took me and my second cousin on a junior hunt. We had constant action all day. Overall, we got one Mallard/Mottled/Black duck (not sure what it is right now) a green wing, and two teals.

(I am on the left)

We would have had two more teals, but they were lost in the lake. I shot the green wing and a teal in one shot, and my cousin and I both shot the mallard/mottled/black. It was a good first day, and I'm defiantly going again as soon as i can!

Re: First Duck Hunt

Congrats.

A mallard will have white on the edgtes of the colored patch on the wing. The black duck won't have any white. Most of this years hatchlings haven't gotten their adult plumage yet so it can be a bit confusing to ID them. The wing patch is the easiest way.

I don't have ducks. I don't have rows. I have squirrels. And they're drunk.
