Buckie did it again...almost at the last minute. Long season for him. He had 10 within range but only two gave him a shot. He missed an 8pt, and 2 turkey within 10 minutes of each other. We went out early on Saturday and it was all I could do to even get up I pulled a muscle in my lower ab area and it was hard to even walk at a normal pace. He saw I was in pain at 430am and even said we dont have to go if you are hurt. I told him we were going and would deal with it when we get one. First sit we saw nothing, I dont know what it was this year at our honey hole they just weren't there as much as last year. Sign was but they weren't. So we got in the truck and went to the same place my youngest got the doe in the SRA in Pittsburgh. In blind at 2pm no deer movement all day until 5pm. Came out of no where and I gave him the sign there was deer and when he say it he said it was a buck. He had a shot from his angle but I said just wait he will come out in the open. At 510 he came out and he double lunged the deer. The drag was less than comfortable but after an 1 hour down a hill and up a hill. We get him back to the truck and as I was putting him on the deer carrier a bungee strap at full draw lost its grip and hits me square in the head... at that moment I grew a 3rd eye. So all in all another proud season and even through the pain it was worth it. Notice the old school hat he has on!
