Re: 2014-15 YOUTH -DEER SUCCESS THREAD

My 7 year old scored a 7 point on opening day. He toughed it out in super windy and cold weather for 3 hours before this guy walked into the food plot and gave him a 20 yard slightly quartering away shot. 1st year hunter, 1st sit. 1 proud dad here.

Re: 2014-15 YOUTH -DEER SUCCESS THREAD

My 10 year old nephew got his first deer ever, his first time hunting deer on opening Saturday! My FIL was trying to coach his shot but he shot while the doe was quartering away and hit some guts and 1 lung. It died quickly, thankfully.

You want me to put my ear to the ground? Listen for hoof beats? Look for broken twigs?

My 12 year old got his first whitetail with the vertical bow on Saturday. Diamond Infinite Edge @ 55lbs. Muzzy fixed blades. Deer only made it about 100 yards. He scouted his own spot this year, too.

Re: 2014-15 YOUTH -DEER SUCCESS THREAD

Emily, Age 13.

About 6:30 we had 2 doe come in and as they were getting into range they got spooked and headed back up into the woods. Just before 7:00 this buck appeared in about the same place as the doe. In about 15 seconds he got within range and in the opening. She let the arrow fly and hit it perfectly. He went about 50 yards and then we saw the white belly appear.
