I was in 3B Sullivan/Bradford, and I'd say they were 80% changed. If we get a storm this coming week with wind they will be down. I'm east but it may help.
SW PA is mostly green, and many that started to turn have dropped in the wind yesterday. My guess is another year without seeing the colored "gumdrops" in SW PA's rolling hills. Been happening frequently lately.
Blame the lack of rain the last two months. It's been very dry throughout much of the state. Leaves are just taking on a dull rusty hue and coming down. This storm is bringing them down quickly.
That's not good.
Talked the wife into going to Camp this coming weekend telling her it would be around the peak time for the colors.
Planed on going to the Grand Canyon or Renovo on Sunday.
At camp right now in Clearfield County trees looked good, good colors a few days ago Strong winds and rain this am really dropped the leaves and it has gotten a lot colder
Be plenty of changing colors to see along the way, but some areas will be past the halfway point when ya get there, if the extreme NW corner of Tioga is any indication?
Came back from camp yesterday. Some areas are still changing, some are past peak and that's just from one side of a valley to the other side. Monday's heavy rains up there knocked lots of leaves down around my place.
In southern Potter now - up for a week - and arrived yesterday to some nice foliage. Some leaves are down; other trees still green; but still a lot of trees in peak color making for a nice view in all directions!
