Building a smoker

Has anyone built their own smoker out of wood? I would like to build a cold smoker. Any suggestions?

Re: Building a smoker

I am planning to do the same. I built a small one a long time ago with cinder blocks but I am planning to make one of wood.

I came across this lady's blog and she has some great ideas. Here's a link to the smokehouse she built: http://cowgirlscountry.blogspot.com/...house.html?m=1

Re: Building a smoker

Thanks springer rage, I found her pics a few days ago, very nice smoker. I love to smoke cheese and my propane smoker is difficult to do it in. I usually won't smoke until the temps are in the teens and at night

Re: Building a smoker

I'm sure this could very easily be adapted to cold smoke.
