1. if you have decoys out you should be wearing waders for decoy & duck retrieval.
2. a good dog will provide a lot more enjoyment to your hunt & life


I understand there are some that cannot have a dog so some type of retrieval is necessary , a rod & reel may better suit the situation
but have a fishing license with you..........

You can buy one that's 18' long made by Avery.
I have one and use it to put out and pick up decoys further than I can go with my waders.
I have a dog for the birds.
Some places that I hunt drop of so quick I would have my decoys 10' from shore if I didn't have one. You can't always drag a canoe or kayak back in.

Been there and done that! We used to carry a fishing rod with heavy braid and a top water plug of some kind. Not bad once you get the hang of it.
