Has any one of you handy guys make a gun rail for a El Cheapo ladder stand with out one?

I don't use my ladder stand often but when I do with a rifle or a flint lock I lay the gun on rubber pipe insulation I have taped on the arms of the ladder. It is quite and handy.

those are great ideas if I had a rail I'm looking to make a rail to shoot off of.. I picked up a stand without a rail at a yard sale...
this is going into the boonies so if it's stolen I'm not out a lot of $$$ Thanks for the gun holes ideas
