Patio table/stool

Wife saw a piece of wood at the wood pile and ask if I would make her a small table for the patio to sit her drink on. The past few days I hacked out some legs and did some sanding.
Easy DIY project
Top- Oak
Legs- Chestnut
Finish- Spar Urethane

Did you use a hole saw to cut those leg holes in the top? That would take a very big drill. Nice job!

When you are up to your butt in alligators, it is hard to remember your intent was to drain the swamp. Stay focused!

Thanks.

I used an ultra smooth auger from Wood Owl. (1 1/2") These bits are used for ship building and leave a smooth hole.
So I make my tendons 1 1/2" to fit the holes.

Sometimes its scary to get the wife to help...I needed her on this project.
Wife stood on wood to keep from spinning, while I drilled holes. She coulda use more weight and was antsy all the while...lol. We work good together, but sometimes I can't do it without her...lol.
I laid out holes in bottom, drilling from bottom. So I can get an 8 to 11 degree splay on legs, what ever looks right.
bohunr and little antlers like this.

Nice job, Hern!! Bet that made the little lady happy. Great craftmanship!! I wouldn't mind one of those for my drink either!
