Gosh, that's nice.

What did you use for a finish?

Beer can holders are optional - I assume?

Good night Chesty, wherever you are......

Thank you.
I tested last evening. Beer can and me sits on it with no problem.

First, Min Wax Natural Stain
Then, several coats of Helmsman Spar Urethane

It would look nice on a log cabin porch.

Been to a couple parks that had extremely heavy duty versions of that bench outdoors for folks to sit on. I can't figure out what finish they used that would stand up to the weather. Would look good around a fire pit too.

zimmerstutzen, this bench is almost 6' long and weighs 78 pounds.
Am starting two benches today for our daughter & son-in-law's fire pit.

I use Helmsman Spar Urethane, which is made for outside protections, creates a good finish and brings out the grain pattern well.
Every few years of heavy use, weather and sun, it's good practice to maintain outside benches with another coat of finish.
Storing under roof for the winter is also good maintenance practice, for summer benches, picnic tables & chairs.

I delivered bench to front porch of Renny28's new Cabin he built (still a deck to add on).
He and his Dad did a great job building a beautiful cabin deep in the woods.
