Lil help....

Hi guys and gals. Rite to the point. I was gifted a 14 foot deep v row boat. I would like to put a platform and a pedestal seat in the front of it. Not sure of the watchouts involved. Any help would be great. Thanks

Make sure that whatever you build is made of marine grade plywood. That's all I have to say 'bout that.

Good night Chesty, wherever you are......

I did one exactly like you want. It becomes very heavy in the front. The boat could end up plowing thru the water

If it is an aluminum boat, don't use pressure treated wood. The chemicals in the PT wood will cause a reaction with the aluminum and over time you will see the aluminum corrode and pit where they touch.

Search out the local construction road sign rental place, they sell damaged signs for scrap price. You can build an aluminum c=deck...

Check out the FAQ on Tinboats.net. they have a good article on stability w/ home built platforms
