Pipe and tobacco cabinet

I decided to make one for just for me. I found an old chicken house that has been falling down for about 10 years. The owner said I could have the lumber, nice old tongue and groove boards, yellow pine. So here is the cabinet in the "still working on it" stage. I'm leaving it rustic. Need a couple more pipes to fill in the blanks. Need to attach two bottom doors and get old leather for the stem notches and leather line the bowl seats. The old Prince Albert can and pipe on the third shelf was my Grandfather's.

Cool beans; makes me wish I smoked a pipe. I can smell the cherry blend just looking at that cabinet.

Good night Chesty, wherever you are......

99% finished, trying to find old handles or latched for the two bottom cabinet doors.

Re: Pipe and tobacco cabinet

I have an old cabinet that looks similar in my house and they used leather straps for handles. it looks like thick old brown belt leather cut into about a 6 inch strip. They then just folded it in half and nailed through both ends to the door letting the loop hang straight down. Looks really cool.
