Tru oil finish

I recently purchased a nice Win 69A and the stock needs some attention. I have applied 3 coats of Tru Oil and buffed each down with 000 steel wool and the stock looks like it matches the metal of the gun in terms of age. However, I am wondering if it is a good idea to put on another few coats of Tru and let the final coat unbuffed and shiny. Will the Tru Oil maintain its durability and shine when left unbuffed?

Good night Chesty, wherever you are......
