DIY Dog Bunk Beds

Suprized the wife with some beds for the dogs:

Measure twice, cut once..

Foreman inspecting my work:

Adding a 2nd story to accomodate his brother:

Claiming their bunks:

After some stain, and enjoying it in the house:

Needless to say the dogs thoroughly enjoy their new beds. And I'm out of buying the $40 department store dog beds!

My wife put this on facebook too, and that seems to be a popular question.
No, no ladder. He is pretty agile and just jumps up.

Gunner (black/tan) will sometimes lay on the bottom bunk when Trigger (tricolor) is eating or something, but quickly switches beds when Trigger returns. I'm pretty amazed how they both have their own select beds, and appear to respect each others bed.

Re: DIY Dog Bunk Beds

That is great!
I made a bed for my dog and my wife said he'll never use it. She was wrong... I guess he appreciates my craftsmanship.
