antler growth vs age

do you guys and gals know of any harvest studies done in PA that looked at antler growth and age? I read the QDMA northern region chapter did a study but was wondering in GC or anyone else has done this kind of thing state wide.

Thanks in advance

Yes. The PGC did one. I used to have the data, but can't find it. It was based on the number of points and age. Pretty interesting.

I know the big ones have big velvet now. I'd venture to say they where the older ones.

Bodhi; do you have the job number? I may be able to find it on the PGC web site with that and post it.

Gal,
It was just a one page report with antler stats statewide (From 2000). No job number. I can post or send you what I have.

Post it if you can. I have a hard time converting .pdf files to .jpeg to post. Thank you.

I tried copy and paste. It jacks up the format too much. If you send me a pm with your email, I can send it to you that way.

Well its probably just like the age old growth rings of a tree. Sometimes the tree grows; sometimes it doesn't. And nothing is guaranteed.
