Brand new branch in SWPA

I would like to announce that we have formed a branch of the QDMA in SWPA. Our branch name is National Pike Branch. Our number is #2223. We were formed back in late June. I'm the treasurer of the branch. I have worked closley with the NW regional director in getting this branch off the ground and running as we are good friends. We will be holding a banquet on Oct. 15th from six to ten at The Willow Room in Belle Vernon, PA. Being as we are new we are trying to find any way we can to get our name out there. As with any event like this there will be lots of guns, prints, and other sporting goods to win. It should be a great time. So if your interested in joining or attending PM me for ticket info or call 724-322-7549. Thanks for reading and hope you can attend.

Good to hear, and I'll try. Waiting on a date in October yet for something fairly important to me, so we'll see!

I wish I could make all the banquets of all the places I hear about thru here...Ihave NEVER had a bad time at a banquet, even when I was the organizer of it. Good times, good causes and GREAT people not matter if it is in support of deer, turkey, pheasants, grouse, ducks...... way I figure they all support the "out there" that we love.

Re: Brand new branch in SWPA

sometimes in our area its just hard to get people to even understand what we do. I've heard we are grass seed salesmen, we are just ryring to get all the private property posted up and that we even do this just to get free hunts for ourselves. The uninformed are our worst enemy. I see bigger things to come in this area. There are some people that seem receptive to what were trying to accomplish. Together we can make a difference! I was at a branch banquet in Oakland MD 2 weeks ago. They have been formed for 2 years and they have 27,000 acres under management! Thats right 27K. I'm trying to get their president to come speak cause he can debunk the "my neighbor shoots em all" complaint. He said they are fairly checker boarded in their managed properties but more and more the holdouts are getting on board when they see results. So it can work here!

Re: Brand new branch in SWPA

AMEN brother...when I held my first PF banquet guys thought we were raising money to stock more birds. Their is a disconnect out there between good habitat = good hunting and it takes time for an area to educated.

It is sad to say with my PF chapter when guys found out we weren't raising money to stcok birds they kind of lost interest, luckily PF Mgmt knew how to rekindle the flames by expanding the area, the NW PA chapter is doing pretty well up here now.

ANyway, I am gearing up to go thru that whole kick off and educate process again with a QDMA branch someday, but I have not rounded up enough local help to where the load would be bearble for the group.

Best of luck.

I know from experience, you have a couple of internet idiots out that way that will spread all kinds of lies about you and your branch. Be prepared and press on, as best you can.
