280 loads

Any recommendations on loading for a 280rem? Gun will be a 7600...

Never touched the caliber...

Will be using nosler brass and likely shooting 140gr accubonds unless y'all recommend a different bullet weight...I have no idea but seems most run 140s....probably fed 210m primers as that's what I stock...

No idea what "the powder" typically is for that caliber...anyone load for it and have recommendations for a starting point and a powder that typically works well?

As always looking for accuracy with velocity 2nd...

Thanx guys!

Re: 280 loads

I use 52.5gr or IMR4350 with a 140gr Accubond, Remington Brass and CCI200 primers. Average of 5, 3 shot groups was .840

I also use 59.0gr of IMR7828 with 160gr Accubonds, Remington brass and CCI200 primers. Every group I shot with this load was at least 1/2 MOA but I would not recommend it for a 7600 (too warm).

I'm still working on a 150gr load

Re: 280 loads

56.5 gr of H 4831 SC and CCI 200 primer behind a Hornady 139gr SST or Interbond. It's the 2nd 280 I've used that load in and it's great. That 7600 will do sub inch with it. I have around 200 brass 150 is once fired, dies, and about 60 loaded rounds. Let me know if you are interested, can't ship the loaded rounds I guess.

Alrighty then!

Re: 280 loads

Re: 280 loads

I always used small base dies for pumps. The cartridges feed and extract like factory rounds.
