.270 WSM

Anybody have any loads for the .270WSM? Looking to reload the empties I've saved instead of buying another $40 box of bullets. Just looking for something to start with. Thanks

Re: .270 WSM

they shoot 1" in my Savage M-14 , I shot an elk in Montana 2 years ago at 350 yds. it ran 20 yds. Bullet went clean thru both lungs exited about the size of a small orange..

Re: .270 WSM

Win Brass
Fed. F-215 primer
66.0gr Reloader 22
Hornady 130gr SP.
2.800 OAL
Slightly over 3300fps.

1/2"-5/8" 3 shot groups if I do my part. Gun is a Tikka. Very effective on deer.

Start at 62gr of powder and work your way up if needed. 66gr works for my rifle. I stopped there with no pressure signs. The same rifle with 130gr Barnes TSX bullets uses 70gr of Reloader 22, but that is because the relief grooves in the bullet lower pressure. The TSX load had a 5 shot average of 3412fps. Start 4-5 grains lower and work up.

Our forefathers didn't bury their guns. They buried those that tried to take them.
