243 load pic

I'm not going to change it this close to deer season but might bump up the load a little after. It's a middle of the road load 43.4 grains of Superformance with a 85 grain Barnes TSX.

Another good bullet for the .243 is the Sierra 85 gr. hpbt it is a favorite of many .243 shooters.

I just got a 243, my first one. I am researching a load now. How did you like the performance of the 85 grain Barnes? Did you get an exit?

I have been shooting Barnes, almost exclusively, for 21 years. I do look at sectional density, especially for lighter bullets. The heaviest X bullet offered is 85 grains, which seems very light to me. I know it's a Barnes and you won't lose any weight, but 85 seems light. I wish Barnes made a 100 grain TTSX, but I'll be trying the 85 grain just the same.

Awesome. Did you get an exit? Where did you hit them?

I'm coming down from a 300 Weatherby.
