RH 4.2" 45LC powder 250gr XTP?

Got divorced from a SBH today but quickly filled the void in my life (gun safe) with a 45LC Redhawk 4.2" barrel.
Have a couple of boxes of 250gr XTP to use and was looking for powder suggestions.
250gr JHP is a given, as these need used up. Not switching to hard cast: save that for another post
Not looking to totally hotrod, but want to load beyond standard 45LC. (Buffalo Bore 45+P seems like more than I want\need if I can avoid it)
My usual is W296 for 357 or 44 mag, but the 4" barrel seems short for the slower burning powders and the min\max powder range window for H110 or W296 is narrow. Regular 45 loads that use the faster pistol powders (have universal and power pistol) are lower velocity than I would like.
Was thinking of trying to find some Alliant 2400 as it is faster burning with a greater min\max spread than 296\H110?

Pretty sure 2400 would work? Friends used to load it in their .44 mags but I always found it to be "dirty" compared to my 296 loads?
