Re: Barnes X bullet (TTSX)

I shot one bear with a 210gr Barnes X in .375 H&H. Velocity was @3000fps. Distance was 35yds from tree stand. The bear was quartering towards me with right shoulder closest to me. I put the cross hairs where the neck and shoulder met and fired. I recovered the bullet in the left rear leg. It sat him on his haunches for a split second then he fell on his nose. He weighed 376lbs.

Our forefathers didn't bury their guns. They buried those that tried to take them.

Re: Barnes X bullet (TTSX)

It wasn't a ttsx, but a tsx that I used this past year on my bear. It was 168gr, pushed by 92gr of RL-22, out of a 300 RUM. Where that bullet is today, I can't tell you. I shot my bear, a 240lb sow, at roughly 100 yards, slightly quartering away. Bullet entered behind the last rib, and exited infront of the shoulder on the other side. The bear went about 20 yards and fell in mid stride. It left a 30 cal entrance hole, a 50 cent peice sized exit, and what appeared to be raspberry jelly where the lungs should have been.

I think I'm an alright guy, I think I'm alright

Re: Barnes X bullet (TTSX)

Barnes bullets are the best hunting bullet imo.I have not tried the new ttsx but they are nothing but an improvement on the X.I have shot my last 4 deer with the x and tested them in wet phone books aqainst the nosler partition, ballistic tip and accubond. The x wins!
