35 Rem loads

I got a 760 in 35 Rem a few weeks ago. Anyone have any pet loads I can try. Most likely will use 200gr bullets to start out with but open to trying anything.

Re: 35 Rem loads

My grandfather has the same gun. He rolls his own loads, but not exactly sure what they are though. He has used both 200 gr RN and spitzer style bullets. Both shoot about the same at 100 yards. The spitzer would work better as the range increases, but it is still a short range weapon. The 200 gr bullets seem to be about perfect for the 35 rem. You can get 180's if you want, but I would stick with the 200 grainers. I think they are really intended for the low (2000-2200fps) that the rem produces.

I know every deer my grandfather shot with his was dead instantly. I know his loads weren't hot by any stretch.

I love shooting it. Very light recoil, but leaves big holes in the paper. I would almost swear my 243 has more recoil that his 35 shooting bullets that weigh half the weight.
