Caliber for Western Muley/Pronghorn hunt

I am 4 years away from retirement, and want to do a DIY Muley/Pronghorn/Whitetail hunt in Wyoming. Looking for a caliber recommendation and what you guys that been out there think. Im a big woods hunter, never really been to the flatlands before. Thanks for any help in advance.

For that hunt I doubt you could do much better than a .25-06 or a .270.

7mm-08, .308 and .270 are close enough that anything you shoot will never know the difference. Like Kudu stated, a 25-06 would be great as well.

.25-06 and .270 are good choices, another option would be something in .284 using a 120 gr bullet. Very good for Muley and whitetail, might be on the heavy side for pronghorn depending on distance.

Ya know, I do like the 25.06. I had one, and I let it slip away.

Whatever it is, It will have to be in a TC Encore configuration. I am going to start research, let you all know what I came up with. Thanks for the advice everyone!

The .260 Rem or 6.5 Creedmoor are also worth considering.

The older I get, the stronger gravity becomes.

Nothing wrong with the old standby .30/06 but if me I would take my .257 Weatherby Mag.
